The bridge in Irpin

The memorialization of the world-famous bridge in Irpin, two years after the liberation, is a subject of debate in the local community. Some people want to remove it to avoid the daily experience of retraumatization, while others believe that the destroyed bridge is important, that it is a unique social document and should be preserved as a testimony, as the true face of war, without the possibility of romanticizing wars decades later. There are candles under the bridge, people come there, and it is quiet, despite the traffic on the new bridge, close to the destroyed one.
